Terms of Service

The rules that govern your use of the PLVN platform — please read them carefully before creating an account.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and PLVN Technologies Ltd, a company incorporated in Ghana ("PLVN", "we", "our", or "us"). By creating an account, accessing the PLVN platform (including the mobile application, web application, vendor portal, or any other product operated by PLVN), or using any feature of the service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

If you are using PLVN on behalf of a business or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. In that case, "you" refers to that entity as well as to you personally.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not create an account or use the platform. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will give you at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email or by posting a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Platform Description

PLVN is an event planning and management platform built for the African market and accessible worldwide. The platform enables two types of users:

  • Planners — individuals, families, or organisations who use PLVN to organise, budget, and coordinate events such as weddings, funerals, naming ceremonies, festivals, birthdays, and corporate functions.
  • Vendors — service providers (caterers, photographers, florists, venues, entertainers, transport operators, and others) who list their services on the PLVN marketplace and receive bookings from planners.

PLVN provides tools including event timelines, task management, budget tracking, guest list management, a vendor marketplace, in-platform messaging, and a day-of operations mode. PLVN acts as a technology intermediary and marketplace. We are not a party to any contract between a planner and a vendor, and we do not provide event planning, catering, photography, or any other event service directly.

Features and pricing are subject to change. We will notify you in advance of changes that materially affect the service you are subscribed to.

3. Accounts and Eligibility

To use the PLVN platform you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age. PLVN is not available to anyone under 18.
  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account, including your real name, a valid email address, and a valid phone number.
  • Maintain the accuracy of your account information and update it promptly if it changes.
  • Keep your password secure and not share your account credentials with any other person.
  • Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you become aware of any unauthorised access to your account.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorised it. PLVN will not be liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised use of your account where you failed to keep your credentials secure.

PLVN may refuse to create an account, suspend an existing account, or terminate an account at our discretion, including where we believe information provided is false or where we have reasonable grounds to suspect misuse of the platform.

4. Planner Responsibilities

If you use PLVN as a planner, you agree to the following:

  • Accuracy of event data. You are responsible for the accuracy of all event information, guest data, and other content you enter into the platform. Do not enter sensitive personal data about guests beyond what is necessary to manage the event.
  • Guest data. If you upload or enter personal data about third parties (for example, guest names and contact details), you represent that you have a lawful basis to process and share that data with PLVN. You are responsible for complying with applicable data protection law in relation to your guests.
  • Vendor dealings. You are solely responsible for your interactions with vendors booked through PLVN. Review vendor profiles, read the service descriptions, and ensure the terms of any booking agreement meet your needs before confirming. PLVN does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any vendor's services.
  • Payment obligations. Where a booking requires payment, you must pay the agreed amount in accordance with the payment terms shown at checkout. Chargeback abuse (initiating a chargeback without first attempting to resolve a dispute through PLVN's dispute process) may result in account suspension.
  • Compliance. You must comply with all applicable laws in connection with your event, including obtaining any required permits, licences, or approvals.

5. Vendor Responsibilities

If you register as a vendor on PLVN, you agree to the following additional obligations:

  • Accurate listings. All service listings, pricing, availability, photos, and descriptions on your vendor profile must be accurate and up to date. Misleading or false representations in your profile are prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the platform.
  • Honour bookings. When you accept a booking from a planner, you are entering into a binding agreement with that planner to deliver the services as described. You must honour accepted bookings. Repeated cancellations or failure to deliver agreed services will result in suspension or permanent removal from the PLVN marketplace.
  • Licences and insurance. You represent that you hold all licences, registrations, and insurance required by Ghanaian law (or the law of any other jurisdiction in which you operate) to provide the services you list on PLVN.
  • Communication. You must respond to planner messages within a reasonable time (we recommend within 24 hours on business days) and keep planners informed of any developments that may affect a booked event.
  • Taxes. You are solely responsible for determining and paying any taxes (including VAT and income tax) applicable to amounts you receive through the platform.
  • Platform fee. By accepting a booking, you agree to PLVN's service fee structure as set out in Section 6 below and in your vendor onboarding agreement.

6. Payments and Fees

All payments on the PLVN platform are processed by Stripe, Inc. By making or receiving payments through PLVN, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy in addition to these Terms.

Planner payments. When a planner books a vendor service requiring payment, the total amount due — including the service price and any applicable platform service fee — is displayed clearly at checkout before confirmation. You must approve the total before any payment is processed. PLVN's service fee is a percentage of the booking value, disclosed at the time of checkout; it is not hidden or added after confirmation.

Vendor payouts. Vendor payouts are processed by Stripe Connect. Funds are held by Stripe until the agreed service delivery date has passed and no dispute has been raised within the dispute window (currently 48 hours after the event). PLVN's platform fee is deducted from the vendor's payout before disbursement.

Refunds and cancellations. Refund eligibility depends on the cancellation policy selected by the vendor at the time of listing. Cancellation policies are displayed to planners before booking. Where a vendor cancels an accepted booking, the planner is entitled to a full refund. Where a planner cancels, the refund is determined by the vendor's stated policy. Disputes should be directed to [email protected].

Subscription fees. PLVN may offer subscription tiers with recurring fees. Subscription billing is also handled by Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for partially used billing periods.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the PLVN platform to:

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content, including fake vendor reviews or inflated service ratings.
  • Use the platform to solicit payments or conduct transactions outside of PLVN's payment system in order to avoid platform fees.
  • Harass, threaten, defame, or intimidate any other user of the platform.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, or network, including through hacking, password mining, or any other means.
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the platform without our express written permission.
  • Use the platform for any purpose related to money laundering, terrorism financing, or other financial crimes.
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
  • Reproduce, copy, sell, or exploit any portion of the platform for commercial purposes without express written authorisation from PLVN.

Violations of this section may result in immediate account suspension, termination, and, where applicable, referral to law enforcement authorities.

8. Intellectual Property

The PLVN platform — including its source code, design, trademarks, logos, trade names, user interface, graphics, and all other content created by PLVN — is owned by PLVN Technologies Ltd or its licensors and is protected by Ghanaian and international intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, create derivative works from, or publicly display any PLVN-owned content without our prior written consent.

You retain ownership of the content you create and upload to the platform, including event details, images, and documents. By uploading content to PLVN, you grant PLVN a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, store, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for any other purpose without your consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

PLVN provides the platform "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of the platform. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

PLVN is not liable for any dispute, claim, or loss arising between a planner and a vendor. We are a technology platform and marketplace facilitator, not a principal party to any booking or service agreement.

In no event will PLVN, its directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities — arising out of or related to your use of the platform, even if PLVN has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the extent PLVN is found liable for direct damages, our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to PLVN in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) GHS 500.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the breach, termination, or invalidity thereof shall first be referred to good-faith negotiation between the parties. If the dispute is not resolved through negotiation within 30 days, it shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Accra, Ghana.

If you are a consumer resident in a jurisdiction that grants you additional statutory rights, nothing in these Terms affects those rights.
