Our story
Built in Accra,
for everywhere
PLVN started because planning a Ghanaian event — with all its moving parts, vendors, and traditions — deserved software that understood the context.
Where it began
In 2024, our founder sat down to plan a large traditional wedding in Accra. The guest list ran to four hundred people. There were caterers, kente weavers, sound engineers, a brass band, a video crew, and a full traditional outdooring ceremony happening the morning before the main reception. The entire operation was being managed through a tangle of WhatsApp groups, an overloaded spreadsheet, and a chain of phone calls that had to be repeated every time something changed.
Every piece of software that claimed to help with event planning had been designed for a bridal shower in Connecticut. None of it understood the structure of a Ghanaian celebration: the layered family hierarchies, the way vendor relationships work through personal trust, the fact that a funeral in Kumasi can mobilise a thousand people on three days' notice. PLVN was built to fill that gap — not by adapting tools that were never built for this context, but by starting from scratch with West African events at the centre of every design decision.
"Our mission is to make event planning in West Africa as seamless as anywhere in the world — without stripping out the culture."
The gap we're closing
Two sides of the
same problem
Planning is still stuck in 2004
- Tools are fragmented across WhatsApp, spreadsheets, and handwritten notes with no single source of truth
- Vendor discovery happens entirely through word-of-mouth — there is no reliable way to find, vet, or compare service providers
- Budget visibility is zero until the bills arrive — overspend is discovered after the fact, not prevented
- Coordination between multiple vendors requires the planner to be the bottleneck for every update and change
- There is no audit trail — when something goes wrong, nobody can reconstruct what was agreed
One platform, built for context
- A unified planning workspace where the entire event — timeline, contacts, tasks, documents — lives in one place
- A verified vendor marketplace with real reviews, clear pricing, and direct booking — no cold calls required
- Real-time budget tracking that shows running totals, deposit schedules, and outstanding balances at a glance
- Vendor-facing tools so caterers and decorators see their brief directly — the planner stops being a relay station
- A complete activity log for every event so nothing is lost and every agreement is on record
What we stand for
Four values that
drive every decision
Context-first
PLVN was built for Ghanaian events, not adapted from tools designed for a different world. Every feature starts with the question: does this reflect how events actually work here? If the answer is no, we redesign it.
Vendor dignity
Vendors are the backbone of every great event. They are partners in this platform, not commodity listings to be filtered and discarded. We design their experience with the same care we give to planners.
Honest product
No fake reviews. No inflated user numbers. No features that are announced before they work. We build in public and we ship real things. When something is broken, we say so.
Ship it
The best product decision is the one that reaches users. We iterate fast, we learn from real usage, and we do not let perfect become the enemy of valuable. Ghanaian events are happening today — we cannot afford to wait.
